“A wound gets worse when its treated with neglect” Steven Nicks. These are the words that best describes the life of Late Olayinka Olalekan Obey-Fabiyi one of the son’s of the popular and legendary musician turned pastor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi.
In his condolence message Evangelist Ebenezer Obey expressed sadness over his son’s death ,saying he tried all he could as a father to help fight his weakness but to no avail.
Trumpet International Magazine spoke to some of Olayinka’s friends names withheld they all emphasized how he was neglected by his famous father while he struggled to make a living,he was quoted to have approached his father several times for assistance to no avail.
The late Olayinka at a time was said to have had a meeting with his father with a proposal for consideration as his father’s official publisher of all publications from his church and music engagements but all fell on deaf ears.
With a struggling publishing business Olayinka became a beggar relying on his friends for survival until he fell ill to liver and diabetes diagnosis.
Our investigation revealed Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi never paid him a visit at the private hospital before he was transferred to the government hospital due to unpaid medical bills,he was only being taken care of by his mother Bunmi and sister Bisola with support from few siblings and donations from friends in and outside Nigeria.
Trumpet International Magazine could not confirm if his father contributed to his medical expenses.
No wonder the octogenarian was quoted in his condolence message by assuring his fans that the sad incident of his son’s death will not in anyway affect his pending performance engagement,he went on further “please note that all engagements and commitments remain valid and unaffected.”
In possession of Trumpet International Magazine is a video of Olayinka’s last days on a sick bed at the hospital.
