The Champions League is set to resume in September, and the qualifiers are already underway

Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare scored for Genk in their hard-fought 1-1 draw against Servette at the Geneva Stadium, Soccernet reports.

Genk kicked off their Champions League qualification with a fixture against Swiss side Servette,  and Nigerian striker Arokodare was tasked with leading the assault for the Belgian side.

The Limburgers got in front midway into the game thanks to a strike from Arokodare. He got on the end of a cross from Patrik Hrosovsky and placed a precise header into the net.

Arokodare had a good game as asides from his goal, he was very active in his team’s play. Unfortunately for Genk, Servette got an equalizer in the 73rd minute through Steve Rouiller.

Arokodare had 86 minutes of action before he was taken off because of an injury.

Meanwhile, in Lithuania, Mathias Oyewusi scored the opener for Zalgiris in their 2-2 draw against Galatasaray. After a goalless first half, the Nigerian opened th scoring for the Lithuanian in the 48th minute. However, Galatasaray rallied back through goals from Abdulkerim Bardakci and Halil Dervisoglu. Oyewusi was then taken off in the 64th minute.

Donatas Kazlauskas scored the equalizer for Zalgiris in stoppage time to ensure it ended 2-2. The second leg will be played next week.
