Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag’s relationship with defender, Raphael Varane has ‘broken down’ after a ‘frank’ exchange between both men following the Dutchman’s decision to leave the former Real Madrid star out of the Manchester derby.
Despite injury to Lisandro Martinez this season, Varane has lost his spot as a regular starter under Ten Hag as the Red Devils boss prefers to play Jonny Evans.
Varane had expected to start the Manchester derby but was benched in favour of Evans.
That was the final straw for the former France international, who made it clear to Ten Hag how angry he was according to the Daily Mail.
Varane has only made three substitute appearances since the derby, despite Evans being injured.
As a result, the 30-year-old has been linked with a January transfer move to Bayern Munich.
Varane joined Man United from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid in 2021.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag had fallen out with Jadon Sancho, who is now set to leave the club next year.
