Media personality, Minnie Dlamini and her husband Quinton Jones have announced the end of their marriage.

The pair, who have a son together, announced that they have filed for divorce in a joint statement issued on Tuesday, February 15.

They explained that they’ve been separated for months and after trying every avenue available to them to mend their marriage, they’ve resorted to going their separate ways.

“After months of separation and consultations with our family and a counsellor, we have taken the decision to officially file for divorce,” read the statement.

The pair explained that the losses they experienced together in the past two years, as well as the emotional burden and post traumatic distress they faced individually led them down the divorce path.

The couple who are executive producers having recently released a film, added that the separation is amicable.

“Despite the end of our marriage and romantic relationship, we remain friends, business partners and loving parents to our beautiful son.”

The couple got married in a fairytale wedding in 2017. Their ceremony aired as the first ever wedding documentary in South Africa with the title Becoming Mrs Jones.

In the 3-part wedding series, Becoming Mrs Jones, fans were given insight into the couple’s relationship, such as how they met, Quinton’s proposal, and how Minnie knew Quinton was the one.

Her bachelorette party was held in Paris, traditional wedding in her hometown in KZN and their white wedding was held on a vineyard in Cape Town.

The 31-year-old actress wore ice-white and pearl Gert-Johan Coetzee Cinderella wedding gown made of Chantilly lace and tulle, with a four-metre long train and floorsweeping hem encrusted with thousands of Swarovski crystals.

According to the designer, it took three months, eighty hours of hand-beading, 12 seamstresses, hundreds of metres of delicate fabric, and thousands upon thousands of sparkly crystals to create the dream princess gown.

Last year when celebrating their four-year anniversary, Minnie admitted that marriage is not always easy, and the couple had sometimes wanted to call it quits, but she was grateful for the journey.

“Happy anniversary to us. I can’t believe it’s four years already. Wow, time flies! Marriage is not easy, and there are many times we’ve both wanted to call it quits, but it’s days like today that remind us of the promise we made to each other. Love you, Baba kaNetha,” Minnie wrote, alongside a pic of the couple on their wedding day.”
