A Civil Society Group, Defenders of Integrity in Public Leadership (DIPL), has insisted on the prosecution of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for alleged falsehood and calculated blackmail.

The group restated the call for the Kogi Central senator’s prosecution on Thursday in a statement signed by Ibrahim Abdullahi.

In the statement, Natasha was accused of making blanket allegations without any evidence to substantiate the claims.

“Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has finally crossed the red line — and Nigerians must no longer remain silent in the face of her shameless descent into dangerous falsehood and calculated blackmail of sexual harassment allegation again the Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio.

“For months, she has embarked on a well-orchestrated media tour of deceit, appearing on local and international platforms with one singular mission: to destroy the image and reputation of the Senate President, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, through a baseless, unsubstantiated, and malicious sexual harassment allegation.

“Since making this grave accusation, she has failed — repeatedly — to present a single piece of evidence. No text. No call log. No witness. No date. No location. Just a poisonous concoction of imagination, bitterness, and vendetta.

“And now, having been rightfully sued in a court of law for defamation, Senator Natasha has conveniently switched gears — running from accountability, ducking the legal process, and suddenly playing the tired, old card of ‘victimization’.

“This is not victimization, this is consequence. Consequence for lies. Consequence for slander. Consequence for dragging the nation into a theater of fabricated chaos while abandoning the real work of legislation.

“Senator Natasha Akpoti-Udoluaghan is not a victim. She is an architect of division, a merchant of outrage, and a political actor who believes media noise can substitute truth and evidence. She thrives on emotional manipulation, hoping that her gender will shield her from scrutiny — but being a woman does not grant you immunity from telling the truth.

“This is not just an attack on one man — it is an assault on the integrity of leadership, on the credibility of legitimate victims of sexual abuse, and on the trust the Nigerian people place in their elected representatives,” parts of the statement read.

The civil society organization urged Natasha to walk boldly to the courtroom and substantiate her claim and stop the unnecessary media propaganda just as it called on well meaning Nigerians not to take her seriously.

“Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s calculated use of media propaganda over the legal process is a cowardly act. If she truly believes her claims, she should walk boldly into the courtroom and prove them. Until then, the public has every right to call her what she is: A liar, a blackmailer, and a dangerous political opportunist playing with fire.

“She will not escape the weight of the law. She will not rewrite the truth. And she will not be allowed to continue this reckless game of character assassination without consequence.

“We urge all responsible Nigerians to reject her circus of deceit. We demand that she face the court, present her “facts,” or publicly apologize for the monumental damage her lies have caused.”
