Who ever thought South Africans would see some good amid the frustration of load shedding? When in the dark, Mzansi has found a sensual extra-mural activity to indulge in when Stage 2 or ominous Stage 16 load shedding hits.
A new survey reveals that sexual activity in the country increases when load shedding kicks in. The sex survey, done anonymously on Sex Expo’s social media page ahead of the four-day (13-16 October) Sex Expo, reveals that there are some benefits to the never-ending power cuts.
According to the survey, 65% of adults over 30 years old in long-term relationships confirmed that load shedding positively impacts their sexual activity with their partner.
The Sex Expo organisers are delighted with the finding saying, “We’re happy that turning off the lights has generated so much personal load shedding and energy expenditure to lighten the strain on the national grid. We implore all South Africans to practice safe sex and take care not to knock over the candles!”
