The die is cast in Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Nigeria as mainstream and grassroots politicians are all set for a change in the quality of their representatives in the constituency. A one-time Chief of Staff to late Senator Bayo Osinowo is the man to beat for the Lagos State House of Assembly Constituency 1 seat in the Hallowed Chamber.
For some time now, since the exit of Hon. Bayo Osinowo of blessed memory who eventually became a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s demise from the Lagos State House of Assembly, there has been lull within the constituency as the All-Progressives Congress {APC} for Constituency 1 has seriously been a thorn in the flesh of party members and residents. The usual coordination and close relationship between the elected and their representatives have been thrown into the dustbin of history. Members has been totally abandoned and neglected.
They were therefore forced to call on their man, Hon. Lanre Carew to come into the race for the Assembly seat. Based on the ill-treatment meted to him by the All-Progressives Congress {APC} and the mounting pressure of the people who have decided to vote massively for him as their “Man Friday”, Hon. Lanre Carew who has been denied the opportunities of serving his people who hold him in high esteem, backed by the unquenchable desire to serve the people officially, finally pitched his tent with the Social Democratic party in the State.
Since Hon. Lanre Carew declared interest in the Social Democratic Party {SDP}, the “tsunami” of voting fears has been unleashed in the camps of the APC that, the forthcoming House of Assembly election into the Lagos State House of Assembly will not be as usual. Moreso, with the insistent of the Independent Electoral Commission {INEC} to use BVAS effectively in the forthcoming election, the APC is set for a doomed result in the Kosofe Constituency 1.
For those who may not know, Hon. Lanre Carew’s trajectory and love by the people did not begin today. It began with his desire to assist the people and bring smiles to their faces since his advent into the Kosofe political space. In quick succession today, he is no doubt the man to beat in the race to the Lagos State House of Assembly Constituency 1 contest. This did not just happen overnight. Its all based on his relationship and goodwill he is enjoying from the people of the constituency who sees him as a development catalyst with commendable business investment within their domain through his employment of over 400 hundred constituents into his different business interest across Lagos State and beyond. At a point in time, he was said to have distributed cars to some ward chairmen and other individuals whom he felt were long neglected by those in the positions to assist in the Constituency.
Hon. Lanre Carew has been adjudged to have rescued constituents in difficult times. An industrialist whose corporate social responsibility has remained outstanding within, and outside Kosofe Federal Constituency is a lover of humanity. Ever courteous, polite, and ready to listen to the people has won their hearts since his emergence in the Kosofe Federal Constituency’s political terrain.

Available data reveals that Hon Lanre Carew is a lover of his people and benefactor to many of them. H e assists and builds people without expecting much from them. This is the reason why most of the people of the constituency are bent on standing to pay back the man who has brought smiles to many families within the domain without even knowing many of them who were only mentioned to him by those who knows his deep concern and passion to make others smile. It’s no doubt a pay back time for the man of the people.

Since he announced his candidature through the Social Democratic Party {SDP}, he has repeatedly said “I am out to win for the people who has been oppressed, deprived, and neglected for long. The people are not asking for too much. They only believed that their lives should be better off by now. We will ensure that whatever is due to the people of the constituency is given to them”.
It will be recalled that prior to now, in 2019, he had as a House of Assembly aspirant owing to party supremacy clause in 2021, he failed in his bid to become the local government chairman also to the same party loyalty having been rigged of the list. He was also persuaded to return to status quo.
But that did not go down well with his teeming and loyal supporters across the entire constituency who felt cheated and deprived. Lanre Carew’s supporters across the local government have since received the decision of their principal and preferred candidate’s decision to contest the Assembly seat with excitement and joy, saying this is “Carew o’clock.”
Hon. Lanre Carew is an Agricultural Economist who farms across the value chain and has carved a niche for himself in the agriculture sector. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Farm City Limited, a farmland focused on growing vegetables using hydro phonic farming technology. He is a poultry farmer with vast experience in egg production in Nigeria. It is expected that he will highlight the opportunities in that industry and provide recommendations on how young people can be incentivized to consider a career in poultry farming.
