PIERS Morgan today jokingly stormed off ITV after revealing what happened behind-the-scenes with his explosive Donald Trump interview.
The TalkTV host, 57, mocked his Good Morning Britain exit as he returned to ITV’s studios for the first time since leaving the breakfast show.
In the wide-ranging interview with Lorraine Kelly, 62, this morning Piers revealed he was sorry to leave GMB, pledged to tackle woke cancel culture in his new TalkTV show Uncensored, and revealed how former US President Trump was “livid” in their chat.
It came after The Sun today revealed how Trump, 75, stormed out of the interview with Piers, raging: “You’re disloyal.”
High-spirited Piers today told Lorraine: “We had a very heated debate about his repeated claim that he didn’t lose the last election.
“He said it was a rigged election and now he says I have a rigged promo.
“He got very heated with me because he thinks he should have won the last election. He’s taken it very badly that he didn’t.
“He’s concocted a story with no evidence that he somehow had it stolen.
“I said I don’t believe it. He didn’t like that.
“Somebody close to Nigel Farage who works for a competitor sent a three-page dossier with all of my criticisms of him before the interview.”
Mr Farage, 58, confirmed he handed the dossier to Trump and told him Morgan pretended to be his friend while also stitching him up.
But Piers hit back online, accusing Farage of a “pathetic attempt to ruin my Trump interview”.
He told Lorraine the interview was fascinating and a lot of fun, but the bone of contention was over Trump’s lost election.
And he insisted he always tried to be fair about Trump when most journalists were either extremely for or against him.
He added that Caitlyn Jenner cancelled an appearance on his new show and called him repulsive after Trump publicly criticised the interview.
Lively Piers arrived on the Lorraine set to Eminem’s song Without Me, featuring the words “Guess who’s back”.
He said he did not want to leave GMB but his only regret was being told to apologise for not believing Meghan Markle’s claims in her Oprah Winfrey interview, many of which were proven false.
And he insisted his new show will push back against woke warriors and cancel culture, which he called a new form of fascism.
He added: “I don’t think anyone should apologise for something they honestly believe.
“But if you give the cancel culture mob a bone, they will crush you.
“I was cancelled by GMB. I was told you have to apologise or leave.
“Society’s got to get a grip on this. We should be allowed to have different opinions.
“The woke mob have decided only their opinions are allowed. They are a new form of fascists.
“I’m not going to let them get away with it.”
Piers today wrote in The Sun how Trump snarled “what the f**k is this?” as he was challenged over his refusal to accept his 2020 US election defeat.
He began reading several of Piers’ previous quotes about him, including “Trump’s a supreme narcissist”, before calling him a fake and later cancelling the interview.
The full interview will air when his global TalkTV show Piers Morgan Uncensored launches on Monday.
Trump also called his interviewer dishonest, a fool and barked at the shocked TV crew: “Turn the cameras off!”
It came after Piers blamed him for last year’s Capitol riots.
But Trump has denied storming out of the interview, claiming the clip released was “deceptively edited”.
He added: “He wanted to make it look like I walked out on the interview when my time limit of 20 minutes went over by an hour.
“The good news is that the interview was taped over by us as a means of keeping him honest.
“The interview was actually very strong on the 2020 election fraud, with me calling him ‘a fool’ if he believed those results.”
Piers urged the former President to share evidence to back up unproven claims of voter fraud.
