Gunmen kill two police officers and two others in Imo

Gunmen have killed four persons at Ohii Junction on the Owerri-Orlu Road in Imo State.

It was gathered that the gunmen in a Corolla SUV, opened fire at the junction on Monday, January 29, 2024, killing the victims.

Facebook users, who shared videos and photos of the incident, said that two of the victims are policemen on duty in the area while the others are civilians. 

In another development, suspected robbers attacked some Point of Sales operators and carted away their monies in parts of Owerri on Monday.

Facebook user, Presh Iheanacho said, “Earlier today, around 9am, some armed men in a Corolla vehicle attacked some POS shops and passersby just before Rapour Junction, dispossessing them of cash and valuables.”

Another resident, Ikechukwu Eze, disclosed that some POS operators were robbed at Amawire – Orji on the Owerri – Okigwe Road.

Iheanacho also disclosed that around 8am on Monday, some criminals stormed Christiana junction at Egbu Road and robbed PoS operators.
