The award is in recognition of his contribution to the music industry in Nigeria.

The music Maestro and Mayegun will receive the honour from President Buhari on Tuesday, 11th of October, 2022.

Kwam1’s 50years on stage

The new feat came weeks after the city of Lagos stood still for him as he marked his 50 years on stage.

Nollywood stars, fans, and lovers of the legendary singer endorsed and promoted the event.

Kwam1 held his talk-about event at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, which was star-studded. The de creme de la creme in the entertainment industry, business world, politics, and monarchy showed support for him.

Celebrities like: Kunle Afod, Yinka Quadri, Jamiu Azeez, Jide Awobona, Toyosi Adesanya, Foluke Daramola, Mercy Aigbe, Adunni Ade, Seyi Edun, Omowunmi Ajiboye, Faithia Williams, Iyabo Ojo, Ijebu, Muyiwa Ademola, Fausat Balogun, Lateef Adedimeji, Saheed Balogun, Ibrahim Chatta, Eniola Badmus, and more showed support for him.

Also in attendance were different monarchs and billionaires.

Eleganza CEO, Razaq Okoya and his beautiful wife, Shade Okoya, were spotted at the event as well as silent billionaire, Sir Olu Okeowo.

Dele Momodu calls out Kwam1

Last year, Veteran Journalist Dele Momodu had called out Kwam1, for lying and disrespecting the Olowu of Iwo, Oba Rasheed Adewale Akanbi.

A now-deleted video shared on his page captured Kwam1 greeting and hailing the Oba Rasheed and complaining about not being invited to an event held by the monarch.

Kwam1 faulted the monarch for not telling Dele Momodu to call him for the event.

Reacting to this, Dele Momodu described the video as a total open disrespect to the monarch and narrated what transpired between him and Kwam1.

According to Dele Momondu, he had invited Kwam to perform at the ceremony on 2nd October 2021 for an agreed fee, but the singer never responded to attending the event.

Dele Momodu added that he invited Kwam1’s manager for breakfast and asked him to speak to the singer and confirm performance modalities, but he never received feedback.

Displeased with Kwam1’s action in the video, Dele Momodu described it as very unfortunate and deserved open condemnation.
