Club World Cup: I was scared of Trump – Chelsea defender, Cucurella

Chelsea defender, Marc Cucurella, has admitted that US President Donald Trump left him scared after he gatecrashed their Club World Cup trophy ceremony.

Trump was invited for the trophy lift, after the Blues thumped Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final.

But the US President lingered on the stage among the celebrating players while Reece James held the trophy aloft, much to the confusion of everybody.

“We had been told Trump would come to present us with the trophy and that we couldn’t lift it until he left,” Cucurella told Spanish journalist Gerard Romero.

“And of course, we were all there waiting for him to leave, but the guy didn’t want to leave.

“We looked at him and he said, ‘Get him up, I’ll stay here, and so on.’
