Social affairs commentator Deji Adeyanju has asked the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, to account for the donations he received during the 2023 elections.

Adeyanju valued the amount allegedly received by the former Anambra State governor during his electioneering to be billions of naira.

According to him, the money was given to him by church leaders, the business community and Nigerians from far and near.

He called on Mr Obi to face Nigerians and explain to them how the money was spent.

In a post on his social media handles on Tuesday, Adeyanju said: “Where’re all the billions Peter Obi collected from church leaders, the business community and Nigerians during the election? Won’t he give account for the money?”

Meanwhile, supporters of Obi have asked Adeyanju to show proof that the Labour Party received billions of naira from church leaders.

Tony Charles said in his comment: “Give us evidence of all the billions you have alleged he collected from church leaders and maybe we’ll start from there. I noticed you are always on a different level when it comes to Mr Peter Obi.”

Olive Bassy commented: “Do church leaders really give out money to politicians or are you missing your afternoon dose?”

ThankGod Chimenerem said: “What is the evidence that he collected billions from church leaders? If I were Obi, I will use you to set examples for others. Everything is not chasing clout.”
