The former Director General of the Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) confirmed that the winner would get N100 million as cash reward.

“They promised to give last season’s winner (Rivers United) N50 million which they are yet to pay till now.

“We don’t want to promise what we cannot do, the winner of the 2022/2023 season will get N100 million as a cash prize,” he said.

The draws for the new season have been scheduled for Wednesday 28th of December at Sandralia Hotel in Abuja by 2 pm.

Recall that Rivers United, last season winner are yet to get the N50 million as their reward for going all the way.

The players of the Pride of Rivers were, however, rewarded with cash prizes by the Rivers State Government for qualifying for the group stage of the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup.
