The reason Bernardo Silva didn’t leave Manchester City in the summer despite a huge offer from Saudi Arabia has emerged.

The actual reason behind Manchester City midfielder, Bernado Silva’s refusal to leave Manchester City, has been refused.

The Portuguese midfielder was offered three times his Manchester City salary to join a Saudi Pro League club, Al Hilal, back in July.

The player’s current salary at City is around £150,000-a-week ($191,205) and he was tempted to move to Saudi Arabia with a deal worth closer to £500,000-a-week.

Silva has already spent six years at the Etihad Stadium and prefered to stay on at Manchester.

The likes of Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly are playing their football at Al Hilal.

The player himself revealed why he didn’t leave the English top flight league.

“I’d lie if I said I didn’t think about the Saudi offers,” he told RTP.

“But what interested me was the heat of a UCL semi-final, the stadium going wild after scoring against Madrid or when we won the final.

“I didn’t want to give up on that.”
