History was made on Sunday night, April 7th as the Queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage performed at King Charles III’s coronation ceremony.

Kemi Filani reported last month that the Afrobeats singer was set to perform at the ceremony alongside Lionel Richie and others.

Making Nigerians proud, Tiwa Savage had a spectacular performance as she thrilled guests and Monarch with her melodious voice.

In videos making rounds on the internet, the mother of one could be seen in a green dress as she performed one of her songs, ‘Keys to the Kingdom’.

Her epic performance has left many singing her praises.

With her performance, Tiwa Savage has broken records and made history as she becomes the first African artist to perform at the Corona of a British Monarch.

Tiwa Savage set to perform at King Charles III’s Coronation

The songstress was billed to perform at the Coronation ceremony of the King of England, King Charles III.

The King was officially crowned on Saturday, May 6th, and a Coronation concert and Coronation Big Lunch was held on Sunday, May 7.

Tiwa Savage made Nigerians proud as she would perform alongside many notable singers in the world.

According to reports, the likes of Paloma Faith, Steve Winwood, Olly Murs, and DJ Pete Tong, were also set to perform at the coronation.

The Coronation was in honor of King Charles, who ascended the throne after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last year.

Buckingham Palace had earlier revealed plans for a festive celebration lasting three days.

The festivities included several notable events, such as a concert featuring famous celebrities at Windsor Castle, and a series of street parties that will take. place through the country and a volunteering campaign called “The Big Help Out”.

Tiwa Savage isn’t the only Nigerian female artiste making the country proud.

Tems makes history at 2023 Grammys

Fast-rising singer Tems, since her entrance to the music industry, has broken several records and attained several heights even Tiwa Savage couldn’t get to.

On Sunday, February 5th, Tems had broken records as she won her first Grammy award.

The Nigerian singer, who keeps soaring higher and breaking records, had become the first Nigerian female artiste to win a Grammy.

The singer won the prestigious award at the 65th Grammy Award held on February 5th, 2023 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Her feature on American rapper, Future’s song, ‘Wait for U’, which also featured Drake earned her the award.

With her feat, Tems beat Tiwa S@vage, Yemi Alade, and other Nigerian female singers to win the prestigious award.
