Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has tested positive for Covid-19, three days before his side resume their domestic and European campaigns.

The Spanish giants confirmed the news in a statement on Wednesday morning, March 30  and it comes as a blow for Madrid as they prepare for a Champions League clash against Chelsea next week.

While isolating at home, Ancelotti is set to miss Madrid’s LaLiga trip to face Celta Vigo on Saturday.

The 62-year-old’s son and assistant, Davide, is set to take charge of the Real team in his father’s absence.

“Real Madrid CF announces that our coach Carlo Ancelotti has tested positive for COVID-19,” a brief statement read.

It is not clear whether the Italian has any symptoms or is feeling unwell at this stage
