Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the last election, Mr Peter Obi, has come down hard on the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Obi accused Tinubu’s government of running a country characterised by ubiquitous stealing of public funds.

The former Anambra State Governor stated this at a memorial for the late Edwin Clark in Abuja.

Obi described Yakubu Gowon, ex-military Head of State, as a saint in contrast to the incumbent president.

“I spoke a few days ago and some people said I am demarketing Nigeria.

“We have a country now that’s not democratic. We are not a democratic country, let’s tell ourselves the truth.

“General Gowon, you sacrificed everything. But the country you people sacrificed for has become a crime scene,” Obi said.

“What we see today is stealing, stealing, stealing,” Obi went on, claiming that the labour of the nation’s past leaders is “in vain”.
