Lionel Messi’s personal bodyguard had to put a fan in a headlock following Inter Miami’s 3-1 win at LAFC.

The supporter jumped the barriers and raced across the field towards Messi looking for a hug.

Messi’s bodyguard grappled with the fan in question – who was wearing an old Barcelona shirt with Messi’s name on the back – before helping security staff to remove him from the playing surface.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner registered two assists during a vital win in California that has helped to keep Inter Miami in the hunt for an unlikely play-off spot.

Messi was the star attraction in Los Angeles, with more A-list guests out in force as everybody in the United States tries to catch a glimpse on him in action.
