At least three big teams are facing the possibility of being eliminated from the Champions League when the league phase ends on Wednesday night.

Ajax are currently in 32nd spot on the 36-team log with six points and a small chance of progressing. The Dutch giants take on Olympiakos at home.

Napoli sit just outside the qualification zone in 25th place with eight points. They host Chelsea in their final game.

Jose Mourinho’s Benfica occupy the 29th position and welcome Real Madrid, looking to take all three points that will catapult them into qualification.

The top eight sides will qualify automatically for the last 16.

For the teams ranked ninth to 24th, they will all go into a two-legged play-off against each other to make the knockout rounds.

The bottom 12 teams will be eliminated.

As it stands, only Kairat Almaty, Eintracht Frankfurt, Villarreal and Slavia Prague have been officially eliminated from the competition.
