Air Peace resumes flights to South Africa — after three months suspension

The airline had, in June, suspended flights on the Lagos-Johannesburg route in line with the federal government’s travel restriction.

Nigeria had added South Africa to its restriction list due to the surge in the country’s COVID-19 cases.

In a statement on Tuesday, Stanley Olisa, the airline’s spokesperson, said the flights would resume operation on October 17.

Olisa said the Lagos-Johannesburg service would operate twice a week — Thursdays and Sundays — with the luxury wide-body Boeing 777.

“We are happy to announce to our teeming customers the resumption of our Johannesburg service”, the statement reads.

He added that the flights would be operated in strict compliance with established COVID-19 protocols.

He implored the flying public to follow all the stipulated guidelines for international flights.

Olisa reiterated Air Peace’s commitment in observing the highest standards of safety.

Last month, Air Peace become the official airline sponsor of the Nigerian national teams. The sponsorship deal is worth N300 million and renewable at the expiration of one year.
