Victor Osimhen opened his account at the tournament with a typical towering header.

Jose Peseiro’s men are now joint second in Group A behind Cote d’Ivoire.

But back home, fans were not pleased with the display.

@buwamemeh: How do I cope supporting Chelsea and this Super Eagles team? 🙆🏽

@Funm_i: You win afcon your value increase, you did not win your value reduced. Please let know what we are doing
If you can’t play with your strength pls don’t come and play. No be by force
You guys just dey gree for them

@rabomed277: Absolutely poor performance. None of these players should play for
@NGSuperEagles
again

@lorenischeap: This is what happens when you don’t choose the right players at the right time….Politics in football and nonsense methodology, zero knowledge in Sports…

@odigieslim: Just send minimum wage and flight ticket to Portugal to that fraud you call a coach pls.

@lizweC: My analysis was as simple as they drew against Lesotho and ZImbabwe, hence I expect nothing from this team. The attack is almost crazy though, almost.

@z7afc__: Oshimen no be good enough for Arsenal because e no get enough experience for top level football. E never play for big club before, and e never prove himself for Champions League or Premier League. Arsenal need player wey don already show say dem fit perform for big stage
