The players are Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Anthony Martial, Alex Telles and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Ajax boss has been given the sum of £100-£150m to sign replacements, according to ESPN and this sum would not cover the additions he wants to make.

Manchester United is willing to listen to offers for five first-team players this summer after the Red Devils hierarchy told the Dutchman he can top up his transfer budget through player sales.

The Dutchman signed a three-year deal at Old Trafford last week and would not be needing the services of the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard. The contracts of these players expire at the end of this term.

Ten Hag is said to have already identified weak spots in the Manchester United squad and he wants to sign a centre-back, a right-back, at least one central midfielder and a striker to bolster the squad.

For this reason, he is willing to part with five players in order to top up his transfer budget, with United’s board willing to release all additional funds from player sales.
