Tottenham Hotspur’s players have been banned from having ketchup and mayonnaise at the club’s training ground, new coach Antonio Conte has ruled.

According to a report by The Athletic, Conte believes a number of Spurs players are ‘overweight’.

He has taken away not just ketchup and mayonnaise away from the canteen at the club’s training ground, he is also limiting the amount of fruit juice his players are allowed to drink.

He will rather want them to eat fruits.

Conte has imposed the measures to improve their diets and keep them fit.

Conte guided Spurs to a 3-2 victory over Vitesse in his first game in charge last Thursday but they were unable to follow that up with another win as they drew 0-0 with Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Italian has his work cut out in order to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League and he is already implementing some of the rules he brought in at the start of his successful stint at Chelsea.

After the win over Vitesse, Conte is said to have been unhappy with the physical condition of his players and said the current fitness levels were ‘unacceptable’.

However, he is pleased with the desire shown by his players in the Everton match.
