This was disclosed by the Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Governor, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha in a press release Tuesday night.

The decision to reopen the shops, according to the CPS, was as a result of a ‘prolonged discussion’ between Governor Otti and officials of NAFDAC.

He said that the reopening would be performed by the NAFDAC Director, South-East Zone today.

He, however, maintained that all the shops found culpable in the wicked and unholy dealings would remain sealed and under lock and keys until the perpetrators were brought to justice or justice taken to them.

“The Abia State Government frowns at the practice of producing or selling poisonous substance to the citizens in the name of business and will continue to partner and support NAFDAC until the State is completely cleared of fake, adulterated and expired drugs including other consumable products and the culprits arrested to face the full weight of the law”, the release said.

DAILY POST on Tuesday reported that dealers on hair and beauty accessories whose shops have been under lock and key at Ekumi Plaza in Ariara market for about three weeks, appealed to NAFDAC to prosecute fake products dealers but unseal the shops of traders found innocent.
