…CP Tunji Disu Confirms Successful Operations in Kaduna and Niger Forests

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully arrested nine suspects and neutralized 10 others during operations aimed at disrupting kidnappers’ hideouts in neighboring states. This was revealed by Commissioner of Police Olatunji Disu during a press conference on Monday, where he outlined details of the anti-kidnapping raids carried out by the command.

Disu explained that the operations targeted strongholds in Kweri Forest, Kaduna State, and Gauraka Forest in Niger State. Six of the arrested suspects have been linked to armed robbery and culpable homicide cases in Dei-dei, Bwari, and Dawaki communities within the FCT.

“Our forces engaged in an intense gunfight during the raids, resulting in the neutralization of the gang leader and eight accomplices,” CP Disu said, adding that two police officers sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment.

The command also recovered significant ammunition and firearms, including three AK-47 rifles, 100 rounds of live ammunition, and 10 magazines. CP Disu confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend more members of the gang involved in kidnappings across Kaduna and Niger states.
