Nine players have arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya on Friday.

First-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, alongside one of his deputies, Amas Obasogie, were the early birds in camp, having arrived yesterday.

They were joined this morning by Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi and Crawley Town summer signing Benjamin Tanimu, Serie A stars Samuel Chukwueze and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru as well as Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, Club Brugge star Raphael Onyedika and Brentford Loanee Frank Onyeka.

Veteran centre-back William Troost-Ekong, in-form Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi and others are still being expected with training sessions set to start soon.

The three-time African champions will be without star striker Victor Osimhen, but Austin Eguavoen still has Boniface, Taiwo Awoniyi and Kelechi Iheanacho to call upon to lead the attack.

They started the qualification campaign with a victory over Benin at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo before securing a draw against Rwanda, and the four points amassed from the two games is enough to put them on top of the table ahead of the forthcoming games.

Back-to-back victories against Libya could pit them in firm control of the group and put them on the verge of securing their place in the next edition of the continent’s biggest football competition.
