Senator Jonathan Zwingina reportedly dead

A former Senate Majority leader, Jonathan Zwingina, is reportedly dead.

Although the family is yet to officially confirm the news, but reliable sources reveal that the Adamawa State-born politician died on Wednesday, October 2, in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

One such source, Mundi Ibrahim, said “the advocate of democracy has gone to the great beyond”.

The source added that the death is a great loss to the Nungurala people, to Adamawa State and to Nigeria as a whole.

Senator Jonathan Zwingina was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party who represented Adamawa Southern Senatorial District two terms (1999-2007) but who later defected to the All Progressives Congress.

He turned 70 years about two months ago, August 2024
