Controversial Islamic Scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has chided Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organization and other groups calling for his arrest following his comment on the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

In a statement, the cleric said he has no plans to reply to those calling for his arrest.

Recalls that Gumi had, in a sermon, described Wike as a “satanic person” over planned collaboration with Israel for the security of the nation’s capital.

Gumi claimed that Muslims would be victimized should the FCT and Israel collaborate.

He equally stressed that it was dangerous to entrust Nigeria’s national security to the hands of Christians and Southerners.

His comment triggered controversies as groups and individuals called for his immediate arrest for allegedly diminishing the image of Nigerian Christians.

Earlier, Ohanaeze Ndigbo called out Gumi, saying he should be arrested for describing the cleric as a “well-known associate of bandits”.

However, recently, Gumi said, “I should not have replied for idiots in a democracy”.
