According to Punch, Dokpesi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), passed away at the age of 71 in Abuja.

A source revealed he died in an Abuja hospital after he suffered a stroke. This reportedly happened after the Ramadan fast.

The AIT boss had since then been managing his health and was placed on occupational therapy to improve his daily activities before his sudden death.

Almost a month after his death, the media gùru has been finally laid to rest in Abuja.

Sharing clips from the burial festivities, Hilda Dokubo bid him goodnight.

Describing him as her friend, teacher, and mentor, Hilda noted how he came, saw, and conquered.

“Finally Rested. Ezomo came, saw, and conquered. His work here on earth is done, the gap he left we do not know if it will ever be filled but we know when we remember him we will have reasons to smile, chat, laugh, and even cry. Thank God for all his goodness”.

Hilda Dokubo unveils political ambition

Last year, Hilda Dokubo unveiled her political ambition.

The veteran had joined the likes of her colleagues (Tonto Dikeh, Desmond Elliot, and others) running for elections.

Unveiling her poster, Hilda Dokubo announced that she wrote to apply as a member of the House of Representatives, Asalga Akulga federal constituency.

“Why I laugh anytime someone says Nollywood isn’t politics” Hilda Dokubo spills

Speaking out over the criticisms she received for her political ambition, Dokubo revealed her reaction, anytime anyone questioned her political ambition.

The veteran stated via her Instagram page, that she always laughs when she hears people say “Nollywood isn’t politics”.

For her, there is no difference between an actor leaving acting for politics and another leaving acting for law.

The veteran noted how people always assume that one will remain where they last saw them.

“I laugh every time somebody says Politics is not Nollywood o, Hilda leaves politics and face acting. I laugh because it’s not too different from leaving acting and go study law. People will always assume that you will remain where they last saw you, that was why on the 3rd day the women returned to the tomb to seek Jesus, even when he informed them that he will rise on the 3rd day. Getting ready for my next responsibility. Please go and collect your PVC. You need it to vote right”.
